Conventional Halloween decorations and party supplies are filled with lead, cadmium, phthalates and many more toxins.  They are typically made in places like China and are not given the same scrutiny as things like food and toys.  The safest and greenest Halloween decorations are those made from natural materials, such as pumpkins, gourds, hay bales and corn.  Try making a scarecrow using straw and some old clothes.  Carve scary or silly pumpkins.  Strategically place pots filled with mums.  If you decide to buy decorations and party supplies, buy well-made quality items that will last from year to year.
