One Part Sunshine has been chosen by Parents magazine as a finalist in their 2013 Blog Awards! My blog is one of five finalists in the category “Most Likely to Inspire You to Change the World.”

I feel very honored to be chosen as a finalist. I started One Part Sunshine in an effort to help parents minimize their children’s exposure to harmful toxins. I try to choose only the safest food, toys, clothes and other products for my children. I also strive to teach them an appreciation for nature and for protecting our environment. I’ve been on a personal journey to DIY more, whether by making my own deodorant, baking homemade bread or creating handmade gifts. I use this blog to share my experiences and hopefully inspire readers to make their own changes to grow green kids.
